The Topeka Storm was awesome, but where do we go from there? What comes next? The ground has been broken, the heavenlies have been opened, but now what? People are really hungry to see this move continue. We can't just let the momentum stop. Also, prayer intercessors throughout this city are sensing that a 24/7 prayer covering needs to blanket this city.
I believe that since we are being called Joel's Army, and since references were made to the 2nd chapter of Joel at the conference, our instructions should come from the book of Joel. In the first chapter of Joel, verse 12, we find that there is no joy in the land. It's evident that the first thing God brought forth from the Topeka Storm was a restoration of joy. We've seen that joy continue in our own church. Nehemiah 8:10 states, "Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength." What else does joy do?
Since God is strengthening his people, it's apparent we're getting ready for battle. But how do we get ready for battle? I believe we find the same answer in both Joel 1, verses 13 and 14, and in Joel 2, verses 15-17. We need to:
Then the Lord will reply as follows:
I visualize contacting all the people from Topeka and the surrounding areas who were involved with Topeka Storm and setting up a time for all of us to meet and pray. I would further ask that all those in attendance would fast the day of the prayer meeting. As we come together in one accord under Scott's leadership (since this was his vision), and pray for God's guidance and favor, I believe we will be given specific instructions concerning ongoing prayer, ongoing meetings and outreaches that need to take place, etc.
I can't speak for anyone else, but my life was so dramatically changed last weekend that I can never go back to my old way of life. And now I know that God has such an awesome work for this city and he wants each of us to be a part of it. Now that the powers of hatred and division have been pulled down over this city, and the generations have been united, and the religious spirits have been broken, God has the freedom to do literally anything he wants and I can't wait to see where he takes us. I am volunteering, here and now, for Joel's Army, and I'm reporting for duty.
